In order for IT to move, we have to move. Unlike the circulatory system which moves on its own, the lymphatic systems movement is dependent upon our movement. It is comprised of lymph vessels, lymph fluid and lymph nodes. The lymph vessels carry the lymph fluid (toward the heart) to the lymph nodes which trap bacteria, cancer cells and other toxic substances that may be in the lymphatic system. The reason this is so important to breast health is because we have lymphatic vessels in the breast which connect to lymph nodes under the arm, inside the chest and above and below the collarbone. Lymph nodes are throughout the body, but for now we're going to concentrate on the ones that affect our breast health.
As women most of us are in bras all day. The restriction leaves little room or time for breast movement. Several health conditions have been associated with the use of underwire bras, such as breast pain, breast infection during lactation, and allergic reactions to the metal underwire. And there are some women who have sensitivities to the chemicals in deodorants. They break out in rashes and boils. The aluminum salts in the deodorants block sweat glands. There are theories about breast cancer and underwire bras and deodorants. I'm not sure if they are the cause or not. I do know our bodies are bombarded with toxins from so many sources. Restriction and lymph flow don't play well together.
